Release Date - 06/01/2007

DAYTON, Ohio, May 30, 2007 – LJB Inc., a 160-person innovative facility and infrastructure design firm and parent company of CON/STEEL Tilt-Up Systems, was recently named the recipient of Bentley Systems’ international award of excellence in the building innovation category. Bentley Systems, Inc. provides software for building, plant, civil, and geospatial applications for the architecture, engineering, construction and operations industry.

This year’s Bentley Awards program included more than 280 projects across 36 categories. Of the eight nominees in the building innovation category, LJB Inc. received the award for work completed on the new 300,000-square-foot headquarters for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, located in Frederick, Maryland. The project also received the People’s Choice Award, which was voted on by conference attendees.

The innovative use of Bentley software to integrate the complex 3-D structural engineering model with the design drawings allowed for an accelerated schedule and enhanced accuracy for the project. The $38 million Wells Fargo project, which was constructed by CON/STEEL Alliance member Morgan-Keller, Inc., was selected ahead of nominees from international competition, including DaimlerChrysler and projects from Europe and southeast Asia.
